MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show inaugurated in Sharjah, UAE

The 19th Edition of the MidEast Watch & Jewellery Show held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah was inaugurated by HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Salim Al Qassimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Amiri Court at the (Sharjah) Expo Centre on 15 November 2005. This bi-annual event, held in April and November of each year, will conclude on November 19, 2005.

“Jewellery connoisseurs will treat this exhibition as a ‘must see’ event. The popularity of this event has been growing primarily because of the regional population’s strong affinity towards gold and diamond jewellery,” said Fasahat Ali Khan, Acting Director General, Expo Centre, Sharjah speaking on this occasion. The ceremonies were also attended by senior officials fro the Sharjah Economic Department and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

This edition of the exhibition featured 225 exhibitors from 25 countries and host national pavilions from Hong Kong, China, India, Italy, Turkey and Russia. Exhibitors were are also drawn from Jordan, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and the UAE. The Show is supported by the World Gold Council (WGC) Middle East.
