Preparations for this year’s Silver Jubilee Edition of the India International Jewellery Show (IIJS 2008), scheduled to be held in the country’s western commercial metropolis of Mumbai (formerly Bombay) from 7 to 11 August 2008 are steadily gaining momentum. The South Asian subcontinent’s largest gems and jewellery exhibition will feature country pavilions from Italy, Belgium, Thailand, Turkey and Japan and showcase the best in a wide range of jewellery, gemstones, pearls and related accessories. Other leading names at IIJS 2008 will be the World Gold Council, Platinum Guild International, Rio Tinto Diamonds, Diamond Trading Company and the Gems & Jewellery National Federation. Over USD $ 700.0 million worth of business was transacted at IIJS 2007.
